We aim at fostering collaboration among scientists at ETH Zurich and with partners from industry and academia in the area of materials and processes, so that the impact of research is enhanced and added value for society and economy is created.
Activities of MaP
- Research collaborations: Regular common events focusing on networking and ideas creation, such as the MaP Graduate Symposium, PhD-Postdoc activities and Sandbox, promote exchange among researchers, thus increasing collaboration, and cross-fertilizing or launching of joint projects including seed projects. MaP acts as platform for various focus areas and the additive manufacturing (AM) community.
- Education: The MaP Distinguished Lecture Series on selected cross-disciplinary topics, Invited Talks and PhD-Postdoc activities contribute to the interdisciplinary education of our students and scientists. Cross- and interdisciplinary courses taught by MaP members, student projects / theses opportunities and upcoming seminars are advertised across the MaP community.
- Outreach: MaP works on a continuous dialogue between academia and industry by organising the Partnership Council meetings within the "Manufacturing, Processes and Materials" initiative of the ETH Zurich Foundation and MaP members are active participants at the ETH Industry Day. InSight events offer a networking platform for ETH alumni with our active community. International workshops aim at strengthen international collaborations in specific areas of expertise in the field of materials and processes.
